Model Supply Chains brings over 30 years of professional experience in addressing strategic supply chain design problems and data analysis. Our expertise includes supply chain analysis methodology, data handling, data analysis, statistics, training and coaching, and tools usage and development.
Supply Chain Analysis MethodologyWe have, in a business environment, been at the forefront of developing supply chain design methodology, and adapting this methodology to ever-changing business requirements. This continuous improvement approach, together with our deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, lends itself well to adaptation in different businesses with their own particular needs. Our coordinated approach brings together the business expertise of various work-stream business specialists into a unifying framework. The methodology encompasses scoping, data collection and validation, generating input assumptions, scenario and risk analysis, business case development and communication of recommendations. For large scale projects we adopt a funnel approach, whereby as we progressively narrow down the options, we work at a finer level of granularity. |
Data Analysis and Statistics
We have all the expertise you would expect to handle and analyse large, complex data sets – a capability enhanced by several years of working in the field of statistics. We bring objectivity to our analyses, teasing insights and opportunities from the data, rather than prejudging the outcome. |
Training and CoachingModel Supply Chains brings considerable experience of training in both a business environment and academia. We offer group training and one-to-one coaching in supply chain design methodology, modelling, analysis and tools. |
Tools Usage and Development
Model Supply Chains has expertise across a wide range of tools. The choice of tools is agreed in collaboration with our clients according to specific project needs. We have expertise in using complex supply chain design software such as Coupa's Supply Chain Modeler, as well as having access to associates with their own modelling tools.
Bespoke Client Models
Many applications do not require the use of sophisticated tools, and can be addressed by well-designed Microsoft Excel files, often augmented by VBA macros. We have a range of ‘quick-start’ models which can quickly be adapted to specific client needs to create bespoke models, such as descriptive network design cost and/or greenhouse gas models, and manufacturing cost models. These tools are particularly useful for adoption by client analysts during a project and beyond. Such bespoke models are typically very flexible and can for example be designed to incorporate Palisade's @RISK.
